Can dienogest cause weight gain? Understanding the potential links and management

While not experienced by everyone, several studies have reported weight gain as a potential side effect for some individuals taking dienogest. In one clinical trial comparing dienogest to leuprolide acetate, weight gain was significantly higher in the dienogest group, affecting just over 10% of participants. However, another longer-term Korean study showed a higher percentage of patients, around 24%, experienced this side effect. The potential for dienogest to cause weight gain is a documented concern for some users.
