According to the International Osteoporosis Foundation, one in three women over 50 worldwide are affected by osteoporosis. This has prompted the development of more effective treatments, with a recent and potent new drug that rebuilds the bone, called romosozumab (Evenity), offering a significant advancement by both building new bone and slowing bone loss.

In a study, the Evenity injection significantly reduced the risk of new spinal fractures by 73% within 12 months compared to a placebo. The primary purpose of the Evenity injection is to address severe osteoporosis in postmenopausal women by employing a unique dual-action mechanism that both stimulates new bone formation and reduces bone breakdown.

According to the European Medicines Agency, Evenity is indicated for severe osteoporosis in postmenopausal women with a high risk of fractures. The medication, which is delivered via a prefilled syringe, helps build new bone tissue to strengthen the skeleton and reduce the incidence of future fractures.
