In 2019, Italian researchers discovered tetrahydrocannabiphorol (THCP), a naturally occurring cannabinoid that early studies suggest has a binding affinity to CB1 receptors up to 33 times greater than that of Delta-9 THC, establishing it as one of the most potent cannabinoids known.
