According to a 2014 study, the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) is associated with an increased risk of upper gastrointestinal bleeding. While other drugs also contribute, NSAIDs, including low-dose aspirin, are one of the most important causes of non-variceal upper GI bleeding in many countries.
